This theme use bootstrap grids so it is not possible to change width of main content or sidebar with css only.
However, you can create child theme and change div structure of main content and sidebar.

Do you mean page where there is form to capture email? If yes, you can use mailchimp or similar application for subscription.

Can you please disable plugins one by one and check if excerpt will be visible?
Next, Please go to Appearance >> Theme Options >> Post Options and check the value of Excerpt Length. It need to be positive integer.

You can create two different pages. Lets say About Us and Author pages. Keep short content on author page and assign it in sidebar. Use About Us page as regular.

To keep this theme minimal and clean we have not added tags and posted date in blog post list and detail page.
At default condition you cannot show tags for posts.

There is not option to change font family or size on the theme. You need to add custom CSS for it.

Please go to Settings >> Discussion and disable option to allow people to comment in article from there.
You can override this from each page and post as well.

Thanks for feedback and 5 stars. Child theme in version 2.0.3 is not working because of bug in CSS file. Child theme loads CSS from parent theme so same bug have been reflected in child theme too.
Anyway, you got your child theme working again. Congratulations!!!
