Both your issues are related with menu.

You can create menu and assign it to Primary menu to solve your issue.

Most of the words can be changed from Appearance >> Customize >> Theme Options

If you do not find option to change words on theme options, you need to use Poedit to change it.

You have enabled infinite scroll using jetpack so footer will be visible when you scroll to last post.

To see footer you can check any inner page like http://5feetofstyle.com/about-me/
