It looks like you have tried to upload main zip you have downloaded. It comes with documentation and other files too. So you need to extract it and upload blog-way-plus.zip

Please login to wp-admin, go to Appearance >> Customize >> Additional CSS and add following CSS code to remove space as per your requirement.

#secondary .widget {
    padding-bottom: 0px;
}

#secondary .widget.widget_gtranslate {
    padding-bottom: 20px;
}

In DONERING widget there are few empty p tags. Please remove them.

This happens if your logo has a larger height than allocated in CSS.

Can you please provide us your site URL? We will inspect it and provide you proper CSS according to your logo.

Please login to your wp-admin, go to Appearance >> Customize >> Additional CSS and add following CSS to remove the background on a blog page.

body.blog.hfeed.global-layout-no-sidebar {
    background: none;
}
