In both cases, Just set Published Date to Latest Date and it will sort products and show latest products first.

Our theme use font awesome 4.7 for icons, you can find and use icons from here https://fontawesome.com/v4.7.0/icons/ and If you need to integrate your custom icons then you need to create a child theme, need to load your custom icon css and use css class in BP: Services widget.
