    SOLVED! I am running Jetpack and I had ‘Enable site accelerator’ on. I switched it off and the slider immediately started working OK.

    Then I switched ‘Enable site accelerator’ back on again as a further test but (thankfully) the slider still kept working.

    Phew!

    Great theme. I really love it but that was getting exasperating.

    By the way, I have checked for conflicts with any plugins I’m using but still the problem persists.
