“Continue Reading” doesn’t display on http://www.wombat-dingbat.com/
I’m using the –more– tag and not using manual excerpts. I didn’t find this topic.

    Thanks.

    Hi @aju,

Inserting -more- tag will truncate content after it so continue reading will not get visible.

If you have few posts you can delete -more- manually and use excerpt length to control it.

If you have too many posts and it is not possible to remove this tag manually, please let us know.

We will try to find a solution for it.

    Thank you.

I have inserted the -more- tag and it appears correctly in the back end. However, it doesn’t show in the home page which is the blog page. If I use the word limit setting, the display works. However if I set the word limit to 220 and use the -more- tag there is no “Continue Reading” displayed.

When the excerpt is blank, the home page formatting of the post is lost. (no line feed) If I use the excerpt and no -more- tag, the “Continue Reading” is not displayed.

Sorry if I was unclear. Thanks for the quick response.

    Hi @aju,

If you set excerpt length higher than words that are before -more- tag, Continue Read will not b visible.

So it is better to use excerpt length lower than the number of words that are available before -more- tag.

    Thanks.

If I use the Twenty Seventeen theme, the –more– tag works perfectly.

    Hi @aju,

Please note that Twenty Seventeen theme display full content if you do not insert -more- tag.

We are showing few words of content called excerpt on Blog Way theme.

Hook that add Continue Reading text work with full content only so it is working perfectly in Twenty Seventeen theme.

Our theme is designed differently than Twenty Seventeen theme so Continue Read more button will not be visible if you add -more- tag.

We recommend you to remove -more- tag or add excerpt in all posts manually.

    Thanks.
