I followed the vedio and tried many times to add different widget to the home page widget area
PT MIX COLUMN NEWS
PT THREE COLUMN NEWS
IMAGEetc.
But the widget doesn’t work at all.
And when I added these to the sidebar, they could work, and will apear at the web site.
As the veido you provided only showed the set up at the home page Wiget area, but it did not show the related changes at the web site.
And I found it didn’t work at the web site at all.
And now my web site is tow column news, and it should be orginal
post list type: grid (tow column), I choose this one
list (one column)I tried set my langues to Chiese to check, and it didn’t work either.
Therefore, could you kind to help to check what’s the problem.
Does there any other necessary set up needed?? before using the home page widget area.

I have try to stop the all plugins, and the home page widget area is still not working.
Pls kindly to check whether there is any bugs.
Just find sollution, and it is helpful.
You need to creat the home page and select Home Template to that page first.
After that please go to Settings >> Reading and assign Home Page you have created to static front page.
