I just started working with “Business Point” free.
I successfully changed the color of the header, the breadcrumb tray using the editor. Of course when I saw an update and applied it, I lost all my changes. 🙂
What is the preferred way to edit those colors so I don’t lose my changes with the next update?

Hi @wstonestreet,
It looks like you changed CSS file directly on main theme file. So these changes will get lost when you update theme.
Better way is to create child theme and change/customize theme using child theme.
If you don’t know what child theme is you can login to wp-admin, go to Appearance >> Customize >> Additional CSS and add CSS there.
You recommend you not to change theme file directly.

Thank you, you are correct. It was the only option I could think of. I like your theme but the aqua color is an issue.
I made a copy of the style.css and edited the copy.
I found the documentation on creating a “child theme”. I’ll study that.
I believe I found 72 instances of the aqua color #1bbc9b. I’m not sure I would know how to use the additional CSS to make that many changes.
It would be great if I could find a function to universally substitute one color number for another, but I haven’t found anything like that.

You can upgrade to Business Point Plus. It allows you to change color from backend (customizer) with color picker.
For free theme you need to override it through style of child theme.
