    How do I change the header and footer background colour? It is black and I would like to change it. I cannot figure out how to do it. Please help

    Go to: customizer/advance colour options
    There you can change all colors of headers and footers

    The free theme doesn’t have advanced colour options in customize, unless I am looking in the wrong place?

    Yes, that’s true. It is only in the paid version.
